Horse Racing Systems

Betting strategy

STEP 1 : Race selection

The first step involves the selection of the race to bet in. The horse racing software does this automatically by calculating a race quality check. This is a number between 1 and 10 that is calculated from the type of race. High class races and races with higher levels of form give a higher index figure. The race selection index is next to the race title [see 1].

STEP 2 : Compiling a betting forecast

The second step is the compilation of a betting market for the selected race [see above example]. The software program calculates three sets of betting odds for each horse in the race.

[2] SELL ODDS - the point at which the betting odds represent poor value (-),
[3] CALCULATED [or true] ODDS,
[4] BUY ODDS - the point at which the betting odds represent good value (+).

STEP 3 : Finding value odds

The third step of the betting system is to identify value betting opportunities. This is done by comparing the calculated odds against the advertised bookmaker tissue odds [5].

Horses that represent good value are highlighted with a (+).

Horses that represent poor value are highlighted with a (-).

The recommended horse racing betting tip is to bet the (+) horses [6] and lay the (-) horses.

STEP 4 : Betting strategy

Using the horse racing calculator to determine the bet size to trade odds on the (+) and (-) horses, so creating hedge bets.
